 ABOUT THE DESIGN

Force Majeure's translation from French is roughly "Act of God" and grammatically, it's "feminine". It's also a legal clause that a few people have felt the effects of - or used - this year, as COVID-19 lockdowns began to change the employment landscape all over the world.

Neither of these common definitions is directly where the concept came from for ME. I came up with it years before everything went tits-up in 2020; call it prescient, if you like. I'm more of a mystic than a religious person, but there is an element of the mystery in this design. Without spelling it all out, just consider that I created this because I was thinking about what animates us all, what we have in common, and what constitutes creativity, our power for Good.
